Hillsborough to Paris on a Piano

Sara Zaleta, a local piano and vocal teacher, is a passionate promoter of French culture in Hillsborough. Her dedication to French culture began later in her life, after picking up the language as an adult, but starting late didn’t discourage Sara from falling in love with the culture. Alongside daily lessons with her students, Sara organizes French piano performances and celebrations around Hillsborough, building a community for French-speakers in the town.

Sara’s mindset of “it’s never too late to start something new” empowers her students, people around her, and herself to explore without fear. I too was inspired by Sara and motivated myself to search for new opportunities throughout the semester. Thank you Sara for inspiring me and many others with your music and approach to life. I look forward to attending Sara’s concerts during my time in Durham.
